Background

As Singapore approaches its 60th anniversary in 2025, there's a unique opportunity to bridge generational gaps and preserve the rich history of the nation through personal stories. The elderly population holds a treasure trove of memories that span Singapore's transformation from a developing nation to a global hub of innovation and prosperity. By leveraging AI technology, we can create a platform that not only preserves these precious memories but also provides companionship and cognitive stimulation for the elderly.

This bootcamp aims to empower youth with AI skills while addressing a significant social need: supporting the elderly population by creating personal memory museums. These digital museums will collect and curate memories through voice interviews, old photographs, and AI-generated content, resulting in a personalised virtual assistant that can reminisce with the elderly user, provide companionship, and help preserve their life stories.
